Why your best is yet to come
“We are in the process of adding perhaps two decades to the most satisfying and pro-social period of life. Some sociologists call this new stage of life ‘encore adulthood.’ Whatever you call it, it is a gift the likes of which mankind has never known before.
That’s one of the many nuggets author Jonathan Rauch reveals in his book, The Happiness Curve—which is about the reinvention of retirement, or what he calls the “post midlife upturn.”
According to Rauch, that’s when many folk reboot their emotional state, redefining what’s important to them, what matters to them, and where their satisfaction comes from. Basically, when they stop caring so much about what others may think, and more about themselves. Specifically, more about their needs, goals, wants, and desires.
Which you may think is BS, of course. And that’s perfectly fine if you do. Unlikely though you’ll enjoy my emails. They’ll simply clog your in-box. If so, please unsubscribe below.
But if this email of hope and possibility tickles your retirement fancy, then my Retirement Coaching Asylum maybe the crazy place you’re looking for.
It may even help bring out your best yet, crafting the satisfying retired life you want.
